Event Overview

The global and dynamic threats to our national and international information assets cannot be denied. What to do to address this expanding battle space is less straight-forward, despite the diverse and best efforts of cybersecurity professionals worldwide. One fact is certain, the adversaries are well-armed and educated, intend to disrupt government and commercial operations, and have compelling financial and other motives to mount cyber-attacks against U.S. and other critical infrastructures.

Given this challenging scenario, how can and should Federal Government professionals and their partners take steps to limit the exposure of their networks, data stores, and endpoints? If there is no perimeter security in today’s operating environments, how can those responsible take pro-active steps to protect government information and uphold privacy requirements?

An excellent place to start is by having a clear understanding of WHO is accessing networks and information, regardless of where each is located. To do this, Federal Government agencies have spent significant time and effort over the past several years to implement reliable strategies for physical and logical access to official systems and data. The best way to protect is to detect user access, understand what each is doing, and verify their use is for legitimate purposes only.

Mark your 2012 calendar today and plan to join this Federal Executive Briefing in February where seasoned IT and program implementation experts will address how they are proceeding to support secure, scalable identity protection and management systems for government enterprises. Discussion topics include:

  • Why identity management and effective cybersecurity programs are inseparable
  • Specific agency approaches to next-generation identity management
  • How to incorporate role-based attribution about users into your IDM program—and why it’s essential for effective continuous monitoring
  • The benefits of converged physical and logical security—how to leverage the trusted systems already installed
  • New identity management policies and directives to expect in 2012-2013 and how they will impact government and contractor personnel alike
